  • NanoSteel’s AM business unit takes first place in Rapid + tct ‘Innovation Audition’ for it’s 3D Printable Tool Steel for Powder Bed Fusion clearly demonstrating BLDRmetal™ unique properties and capabilities within the 3D printing space for powder bed fusion. NanoSteel was chosen as a finalist from 8 applicants for the audition, and knocking off Additive Industries as the competition finalist.     3D Printable Tool Steel For Powder Bed Fusion

    NanoSteel's BLDRmetal™ L-40 is a ferrous alloy powder that can be printed at room temperature by powder bed fusion (PBF) on commercial equipment to form parts with a unique combination of high hardness and ductility.  The lack of processing limitations and excellent physical properties make L-40 attractive for use in several applications, including tooling and die, where hard, ductile alloys are desired for longevity and production efficiency.  With the standard turnaround time for traditional tooling and die manufacturing being at least six weeks, L-40 makes printing tooling and dies on demand easy, enabling fast innovation and costs savings.
