When applied by the HVOF process, SHS atomized powders form a metallic coating with a nano-scale microstructure which provides a unique combination of high hardness and toughness properties resulting in superior wear performance over competing chrome carbide, tungsten carbide and conventional steel powders.

The nano-scale microstructure results in very high mechanical bond strength across a range of substrate materials including steel and stainless steel. NanoSteel’s SHS atomized powders are well suited for a wide range of industrial applications, including extreme high temperature service environments and applications requiring a very high surface finish.

SHS atomized powders are available as conventional feedstock in standard cuts. The material chemistries have been optimized to provide a wide application window for easy use with standard shop equipment.

SHS 7574 HVOF

The material chemistry of SHS 7574 has been optimized to provide high corrosion resistance in high chlorine, salt fog, and concentrated salt and seawater environments superior to crystalline austenitic stainless steel and nickel-based superalloys. The nano-scale microstructure results in low porosity, high damage tolerance and very high bond strength across a range of substrate materials.

SHS 9172 is NanoSteel’s best performing thermal spray coating material for resisting abrasive wear. SHS 9172 excels in high temperature environments with a significant ability to resist corrosion, erosion, and oxidation. The nano-scale microstructure results in low porosity, high damage tolerance and very high bond strength across a range of substrate materials.
